30-year Comeback

After 30 long years, The Hun School of Princeton welcomes back the Hun School Cheer team. The Hun Cheer team is ecstatic to be back and excited for an entire cheering season ahead of them. “I brought the idea up with Mrs.Yacamelli, and she said, ‘Well, it’s about time we got the cheer team back together,’” Cristina Madaio ‘22 says.

Indeed, it is about time that the Hun cheer team comes back to Hun. And, what better time to open up their season is the Hun School Girls Varsity Basketball team opening game on Tuesday, December 4th. “We have been practicing for weeks, so the nerves were pretty high,” states Anjila Monga ‘24.

The cheerleaders may have been nervous, but they worked through all their jitters and performed miraculously throughout the game. “I think the girls have done a wonderful job this year. It was definitely hard but worth it,” says Mrs.Callie Zieglar.

Starting new routines and a team is more complicated than it sounds, but every girl on the team gave their very best and gave out a great show at the Hun School Girls Varsity basketball team opening game. “Since this is a comeback year, we had to create everything from scratch. It was hard, but it made the team closer than before,” Kaylie Shook ‘24 concludes.

The Hun cheer team is not only working their way up, but they are also strengthening their friendship with each other through cheering. “This year is very special to the girls on the team because we celebrate Her at Hun, as it has been 50 years since girls have attended the Hun School.“ Kaveethma Dhushyandan ‘24 states.

This year is a perfect time to bring back the Hun cheer team as this year; the Hun School is celebrating the 50th year of girls attending the Hun school, celebrating her at Hun! The cheer team has fun working their way up, bringing back traditions, and creating new memories together. “I love the team.” Eva Cheng ‘24 claims, “It has definitely been a great experience, and I hope the cherry team continues next year.”

The Hun school wishes the same thing and is excited to see what the Hun cheer team has in store for the Hun community throughout their season and hopes the Hun cheer team comes back next year with a bang.
